Seattle Mariners brought back free haircut night for its fans
Times are tough lately in the Great Northwest, with the Seattle Mariners. The team and its fans were a perennial playoff team and one of the most exciting teams in all of baseball, once upon a time. In fact, some would say the Mariners arguably had two of the greatest players of this generation playing on the same team in the ’90s. That would be Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr of course. Toss in potentially the greatest left-handed pitcher of our generation in Randy Johnson and you can see why the great Seattle fans, may have been spoiled during the 90s.
So what better way to relive those experiences during a rough drought then to bring back their traditional free haircut night.
”The Buhner Buzz” was still an option under “Classic Cuts,” along with “The Griffey Hi-Top Fade” and “The Big Unit Mullet,” as well as a range of more modern Mariner looks.
Some fans got creative and combined different aspects of Mariner hairstyles to make a custom cut.
“I wanted the Buhner in the front and Randy Johnson [referring to 'The Big Unit Mullet'] in the back, but I don’t have enough hair for that,” said one fan, describing his desired style.
