John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle says it could be worthwhile for the San Francisco Giants to take a one-year flier on Grady Sizemore to patrol center field at AT&T Park.
Sizemore is coming off a knee injury and hopes his Oct. 3 arthroscopic knee surgery will have him back on the right track. Doctors say he should be ready for the start of spring training.
Sizemore is a career .269 hitter, and hit .224 in 2011 in 71 games. His best years with the Indians were 2005-2008. In the last two season, Sizemore has only played a combined 104 games and has had four operations in the last two years.
Grady Sizemore – 2011 Stats
G 71, AVG .224, HR 10 RBI 32, R 34, OBP .285
