Why Ask For Cancer?

On a day where the Mets and their fans are looking to start a new era, a story has hit the wires claiming the Mets have signed Gary Sheffield.

Please tell me this is not true.

Why in the world would you want this guy? Has Omar no sense? This guy is a chemistry-killer. Sheffield is finished on the field and is the last player you would want in the clubhouse.

If this is true, they will regret it. I wonder if the boos in Citi Field will be as loud as they were at Shea.

You won't have to wait long now with Sheffield aboard....

This move coincides with the talk of moving Fernando Tatis to 2B. Sheffield will play the Tatis role now, splitting time with Ryan Church in left-field.

I don't like this move, but the Mets do have a left-handed heavy lineup. If Sheffield can gain any of his old form,, he will provide some much-needed punch from the right side of the plate.....IF being the operative word.
