While not official it's being reported that Jerry Manuel and the Mets have agreed in principle to a two year deal with a club option. Clearly the team responded to Manuel and he was able to handle the position in New York, so it was a pretty easy decision to bring him back. Now the question becomes who will return with him.....Jerry Manuel has agreed to return as New York Mets manager, SI.com has confirmed. Manuel will get a two year contract, plus a club option for a third season. source SI.com Dan Warthen should return as the pitching coach, Pelfrey and Perez really responded to him and I think the club was happy to have an old school aggressive style coach after several years with the professor. I think Guy Conti's job will hinge upon what they decide to do with Pedro.
