Another off season and it appears the Rangers and Los Angeles Angels may be fighting over a key free agent.
His name is Tim Bogar. And he’s a career .228 hitter.
This time however neither team is looking for a bat or an arm to bolster their chances of AL West supremacy. It is his mind they are after. According to a major league source the Rangers interviewed Bogar a former infielder for at least one of the two openings on the coaching staff. The Angels however also have an opening on the major league staff and Bogar who managed Double-A Arkansas in the Angels system this past season after five seasons in the majors is a candidate there too.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels declined to comment on the coaching staff situation.
