Sighs. I keep waiting for it to turn around. Keep waiting. Keep waiting. Today it was Tim Wakefield vs. AJ Burnett. We at least had a chance. However, Tim didn't pitch well, Salty didn't catch well, Crawford didn't play left field well, Ellsbury is the only one who could get anything done at the plate and AJ Burnett actually pitched well. All in all...not our best day.
The Sox started off in a 2 run hole in the 1st inning. Wake's knuckleball seemed to be all over the place and Salty was having passed ball after passed ball. In the 3rd, Wake walked ARod and gave up a 2 run HR to Jorge Posada. Sox down 4-0. Ells got the Sox on the board with a solo HR in the 4th. However, the Yanks got that run right back in the 5th and Wake was chased from the game. Wake was in a long LONG line of starting pitchers who couldn't get out of the 5th inning.
