Was yesterday afternoon’s doubleheader opener the low point for the Red Sox? We can only hope. The Orioles took the first game 6-5, and the Red Sox hung on through another awful John Lackey start to win the nightcap 18-9.  The second game was highlighted by a Jacoby Ellsbury inside-the-park home run, and a grand slam from Conor Jackson, both in the same inning. (Is it just me, or does every time Don Orsillo say “Conor Jackson” does it sound like “Hunter Jackson?”) Red Sox back where they started - Gordon Edes notes that 10 hours of baseball at Fenway didn’t resolve much for the Red Sox. It was day and night for Red Sox - Mike Fine says that extremes were on display for the Red Sox yesterday.
