DENVER — Two of the most popular Rockies in recent seasons will be reunited in Cleveland. Outfielder Ryan Spilborghs has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Indians, pending a physical. He will compete for a reserve spot on a team whose outfielders have missed significant time with injuries in recent seasons. Spilborghs joins former Rockies’ ace Ubaldo Jimenez, whom Cleveland acquired on July 30. Spilborghs, considered glue in the Rockies’ clubhouse because of his upbeat personality and sense of humor, struggled last year with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, landing on the disabled list. The injury prevented him from transferring weight in his swing. He hit .210 with three home runs and 22 RBIs in 98 games last season. The Rockies used him primarily against left-handed pitching over the last four years, platooning with Seth Smith. The Rockies non-tendered Spilborghs in December.
