Through the first half of May, there is considerable excitement among St. Louis Cardinals fans because of the team’s fast start. Manager Mike Matheny’s second club has won exactly two-thirds of its games, with 26 victories in 39 contests. The team has the exact same .667 winning percentage at home (12-6) and on the road (14-7). The Cards have won 12 of their last 14 and hold a 2 ½ game edge over the Cincinnati Reds in the National League Central Division.
