Cliff Lee has improved his record to 2-0 beating the N.Y. Mets at the Bank. But more importantly has stopped the Phillies losing ways for a second time. With Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay not getting past the fifth inning in both their starts, Lee is clearly their staff ace. Lee had a solid outing, pitching 8 2/3 innings, striking out 6 and walking none. Adams struck out the last and only batter he faced finishing the game. The Phillies improved their record to 3-5 getting home runs by Howard, Young and Mayberry Jr all in the third inning. The season is early but the struggles of the starting pitching and Howard early on is a concern. Pitching, what the Phillies have been known for has struggled. The trade of Worley, will be viewed as a mistake if Halladay doesn’t start turning it around.    Similar Posts: Phillies Odds and Ends: Halladay, Kendrick and the new bullpen Phillies role player review: Freddy Galvis, Kevin Frandsen Let the season begin, Phillies opening day hope So as Jimmy Rollins goes will the Phillies go Big win for Phillies and the truth told of that 9th inning
