So the Washington Post's Adam Kilgore checked in with Steve McCatty, who checked in with Drew Storen and Tyler Clippard after the Nationals signed Rafael Soriano to be their closer. Despite quotes from McCatty stating that both took the news "like professionals", reading between the lines it sounds like Storen took the news much harder than Clippard. McCatty on Storen: "He’s a little upset, but he was absolutely fine. The bruised ego will heal quickly." McCatty on Clippard's reaction: "Whatever dude. Whether I pitch the seventh or eighth, that’s the way it is." Storen in particular must have been comforted by this whopper from Mike Rizzo from Thursday's Soriano introductory press conference: "By no means was the signing of Rafael Soriano based on one inning and one game at the end of the season." So who gets traded, anyway? Storen or Clippard? Befriend Nats Enquirer on Facebook. Follow on Twitter.
