A suspect accused of involvement in the 2011 Dodgers Stadium beating that left San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow with brain damage was heard at the opening of his preliminary court hearing Wednesday telling his mother on a police video, "I was involved ... I'm going down for it." Marvin Norwood, 30, made the comments during a phone call with his mom while he sat in an interrogation room with an LAPD detective, the Los Angeles Times reported. He told his mom, "I got arrested for that Dodger Stadium thing. I was involved. To a certain extent I was." Adding that Louie Sanchez, 29, was also in custody for the attack, he apologized to his mother and said, "Pretty sure I'm going down for it. I'm sorry." Norwood and Sanchez have both pleaded not guilty to charges of mayhem, assault and battery. Witnesses told the hearing that they saw Sanchez antagonizing Giants fans throughout the season-opening game, throwing peanuts and swearing at them, ...

SF Giants Rumors: G-Men Own D-Backs At Home, Vogelsong Stellar, Cabrera Passes Mays

Another home game against the D-Backs and another win for the San Francisco Giants. The Giants have won 24 of their last 32 games against the D-Backs at AT&T Park. It was another stellar performance by starter Ryan Vogelsong, but he received a no decision. Vogelsong tossed 7 innings and just allowed 1 earned run. The bats didn’t come around till the bottom of the 8th. I...

Postgame Wrap: Melky Mays

The Giants offense was a lumbering, sputtering, defeated group of gents today. For seven innings anyway. But when it counted, the heart of the order stepped up their game and gave us all kinds of seeing-eyeness and no-swing-itis, and it pretty much worked out. Scoring three runs behind a grit-tastic no-decision from Ryan Vogelsong is probably frustrating for Ryan, but we’ll take...

Is Ryan Vogelsong Hitting On Me?

During the first inning of the Giants/D-Backs game on Tuesday, Ryan Vogelsong made a signal to the umpire that, if you didn't know any better, is downright suggestive. Is he wooing a particular San Francisco male fan demographic? Perhaps he's trying to order a cheesesteak from the in-stadium vendors? Hey sailor!Alas, instead he's merely asking home plate umpire Cory Blaser...

The San Francisco record for any month belongs to Randy Winn, who had 51 hits in September...

That’s the hard part of it,” Bonds said. “My (reputation) was kind of...

Cabrera's 51 May hits match San Francisco record

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By JANIE McCAULEY AP Baseball Writer Melky Cabrera is a new marketing phenomenon: ''Got Melk?'' He is piling up nicknames nearly as quickly as he is piling up hits. Melk Man. Melky Way. And the old standby from his Yankees days, Leche - milk in Spanish. Cabrera has quite the following at AT&T Park, where several...

With those 51 hits, Melky led the majors and in fact had 11 more hits than any other player — although a few players have a chance to shorten that gap today. Additionally, he...

Postgame Wrap: Good as Goldschlager

Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of a Diamondback. Be he live, or be he dead,: I'll grind his bones to make my bread. I really wonder what’s going through Paul Goldschmidt’s mind right now. In the Diamondbacks farm system, the name “Lincecum” is spoken in hushed tones, as tales of his disappearing changeup are told in campfire stories and pranksters with long wigs jump...
