Hilarious indictment of ESPN's Bill Simmons, and a recap of last night's Red Sox/Indians game. Courtesy of Flyers Fieldhouse. SIMMONS: "The No. 1 thing that killed the Red Sox in Game 2: Because of the ridiculously late start (8:21 at night), the weather (dipped into the mid-40s as the game went on) and the length of the game (at 11 p.m., we were still in the fifth inning), Fenway's homefield advantage was removed by midnight." FLYERS FIELDHOUSE: "Funny. I could have sworn the No. 1 that killed the Red Sox in Game 2 was the bullpen having a Chernobyl-level meltdown. So you're saying that had this game been played in the middle of the day, the Red Sox would have persevered and overcome a 7-run 11th inning? I can see your point."

  • simmons is terrible, it's that simple. he's also really biased.
  • Great call...Have fun with Gagne.

  • Biased is an understatement. Every day I open my inbox to forwards from all my Red Sox friends. Today's was a very nice read though.
  • I thought they were blamming it on the weather. They said the 40 degree weather made Becketts back stiff.
  • Simmons is funny and insightful. His point was that the crowd was in a sense taken out of due to the temp. He's a Red Sox fan, so yes he is biased.
