Taki the jam buster.....

Forty year old left handed rookie Ken Takahashi appears to be locking down the "in trouble" relief spot....Much like Chad Bradford in 2006 and Joe Smith from 2007 to 2008, Takahashi appears to be the guy Jerry Manuel is going to when someone else gets in trouble.Some relievers do better when they start an inning, while others can handle coming in with runners on base. Since being called up, Taki has made two appearances, both of which were jams and both times he pitched his way through the inning.On May 2nd he took over for Oliver Perez with one out and bases loaded, he induced an inning ending double play and then went on to pitch, two innings of scoreless ball. Last night, he took over for Sean Green in the seventh inning with two on and two out, in a tie game and again got the critical out.So far to start his major league career, he's pitched three innings in which he's allowed one hit and one walk without allowing a run or inherited runner to score.
