One of my favorite pictures of all time… Now I can go through all the stats about how Boston was 76-0 when leading after 8 innings, and the Yankees (whose lose opened the playoff door for the Rays) haven’t lost a game down 7-0 into the 8th or later since 1953. But the one stat that baffles me and is the reason why I won’t rip the idiots at TBS for making these bus banners is that there was a 1-in-278 million chance that the events of Wednesday night actually HAPPENED [Yahoo!Sports]. You have a better chance of getting stroke by lighting, winning the Powerball lotto, and equal odds of dieing from dehydration and killed by a rat. Here are some other stats from that marvelous day: Red Sox had a 99.7% chance of making the playoffs on September 3rd. Rays had a 99.7% chance of NOT COMING back down 7-0 to the Yankees in the 8th (0.3% chance of winning) Rays had a 2% chance of winning that game with Dan Johnson up,  2 strikes in the bottom of the 9th.
