Well, his Dodgers cards are still very affordable, for the most part. Those Yankee pinstripes are an entirely different story. Anyways, I was able to land this sweet Russell Martin 2009 Upper Deck Ballpark Collection Auto/Jersey Relic from the Bay recently. I also have the Chad Billingsley from this set, and still need to acquire the Matt Kemp. Not that it'll happen anytime soon, but hopefully I can find an affordable one at some point, because I really like what UD did with these hits.I will never pass up a well-designed auto/relic from one of the three main guys I collect, especially when I can snag it for under five bucks shipped ($4.34 to be exact). On a side note, Blogger seems to have been having some problems, and I'm not sure if a couple of posts from the end of the week appeared in everyone's blogroll. Just to be safe, check out the trade I made with Joe from The Sandlot.....Ryan Braun and a John Hancock are involved!

Freddy Garcia is a Type B Free Agent

What does this mean? The Yankees may offer Freddy Garcia arbitration in an effort to retain him on a one-year deal for the 2012 season. Should Garcia decline, perhaps with hopes and dreams of one final long(ish) term deal to close out his career, the Yankees would receive a supplemental round draft pick in the 2012 Amateur Draft if and when he signed elsewhere. Unlike a Type A free...

Pitcher Andrew Backman released by Yankees

Pitcher Andrew Brackman has been released by the New York Yankees, four years after signing a contract for a $3.35 million bonus. New York drafted Brackman in the first round with the 30th pick in 2007, knowing the 6-foot-10 right-hander from North Carolina State likely would need elbow ligament-replacement surgery. He had the operation that Aug 24. Brackman made his major league...

CC Sabathia is back with the Yankees, even though he never left in the first place. With the deadline for his opt-out clause looming last night, the big left-hander and the team got together to hammer out a new contract extension that has a pretty good chance to keep him in pinstripes for the rest of his career. Yankees have until midnight to prevent Sabathia from Free Agency

Tonight is the moment of truth. Tonight will decide the future of the Yankees and their pitching staff. If they let Sabathia hit the market, will the Yankees re-sign him or will they let him walk to another team? That’s the question every one wants to know. This is how I see it working out. C.C. Sabathia won’t get what he wants from the open market but the Yankees will...

Yanks & Sabathia Avoid Free Agency. Mets & Reyes? Not So Much.

“Happy Halloween, everybody. I just want to be the first to let Yankee fans know that we agreed to a contract extension. I’ll be coming back in 2012. I want to thank the Steinbrenner family for making that happen. My goal the whole time was to finish my career as a Yankee and hopefully I can do that. We seem to have gotten that accomplished today. So I look forward to...

Yankees Extend CC Sabathia

The nightmare scenario this offseason for the New York Yankees was losing CC Sabathia in free agency. On Tuesday, the Yankees made sure that didn’t happen when they gave Sabathia a $122 million deal over five seasons. Last year, CC Sabathia held together the Yankees starting rotation. He was a Cy Young Award candidate for the entire season and finished with a 19-8 record and...
