Rockies Locker:
The Rockies have decided not to tender 32-year old righty swinging outfielder Ryan Spilborghs a contract for the 2012 season, making him a free agent. Spilborghs played in 98 games for the Rockies last year and he was 42 for 200 (.210 avg, .588 OPS) with 22 runs scored, 3 homers, 22 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. He played in 619 games in his seven years with the Rockies and he was 424 of 1,561 (.272 avg, .768 OPS) with 222 runs scored, 42 homers, 218 RBIs and 31 stolen bases. Until last year, Spilborghs was a solid player. In his defense, he was playing hurt most of the year. He shouldn’t have much of a problem finding a new job, but the Rockies should be o.k. without him in 2012.
