They’re not much different than the Holy Writers. It seems to me that Holy Players and Holy Writers are nothing more than two sides of the same coin. They deserve each other, those who speak so forcefully as if they are better than the rest of us. Those who have the good senses to know that we’re all really the same and STFU at least don’t contribute to the Holy Pollution. I’m not sure which players Tango is speaking directly of, but the two that come to my mind are Doug Glanville and Ryne Sandberg. Neither did anything about steroids or PEDs while they played, but each have gotten on their soapbox on more than one occasion since retiring. I don’t think people like Glanville and Sandberg deserve to be taken seriously when they did nothing as players to prevent the use of steroids. When did either of them stand up against these drugs when they played? They didn’t. Why fans now take them seriously or appreciate this kind of nonsense is really tough to understand. Do the people who rally around guys like these two really not know that they sat by and didn’t do a damn thing while they played? Glanville and Sandberg aren’t any better than A-Rod, Sammy Sosa or Barry Bonds. They are the same. They helped create an environment that enabled players to use by keeping their mouths shut. And now they want to tell me how much they are against them? Give me a break. I’m not that dumb.
