Found July 04, 2011 on Angels Locker:
The Angels have not had a good lefty in the bullpen in quite a while and now it appears that they have two of them. 35-year old Scott Downs has been nasty since returning from the D.L. Downs has pitched in 32 games (0 starts) for the Angels so far this year and he is 5-2 with a 1.63 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP. Downs has only given up 18 hits in his first 27 2/3 innings as he has been downright nasty this year. 36-year old Hisanori Takahashi got off to a slow start this year but he has been locked in lately. Takahashi has pitched in 34 games (0 starts) so far this year for the Angels and he is 2-1 with a 3.31 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. I think Mike Scioscia sleeps a lot better at night knowing that he’s got two solid lefty relievers in his bullpen this year.
