The Mets Love Old Farts

There is a little bit of buzz in NYC that since the Yanks havent offered up a deal to Bernie Williams (for good reason, they have an all-star outfield and Melky on the bench), that the Mets might be interested. Of course, the Mets already have filled their tired old man quota with Alou (40) in the OF and Shawn Green (only 34, but plays older than Alou). Then again, Bernie is a spring chicken compared to Julio Franco who at age 48 earned 165 ABs last year with the Mets.
