With the acquisition of Gary Sheffield the logical odd man out should be Marlon Anderson, the Mets could delay that decision for a week by demoting Nick Evans to start the season and then figure out who needs to go when they call up Livan Hernandez. But when ever it happens Marlon should be the one to go, however; there are some rumblings that Marlon could be saved once again.....While other teams have cut players with much bigger contracts, the Mets swear that it's not his 1.5 MM contract that keeps him a Met. If that fact is that a large market team like the Mets are unwilling to eat such a small contract, then that's embarrassing especially when the guy they just signed former team ate 14MM. But they have used excuses such as his clubhouse presence, his history of clutch pinch hits, his versatility and keeping all their options open....The fact of the matter is that it's starting to look like Anderson has dirt on somebody ( just a joke) because his release/demotion is...
