John Clayton is as popular as ever. The ESPN NFL analyst, commonly known as the “the Professor,” threw out the first pitch last night at the Safeco Field prior to the start of the Seattle Mariners game. Clayton even had himself a training regimen leading up to the game. Gotta hand it to Clayton, as the guy isn’t afraid make fun of himself, as we saw last year in the greatest ‘This is SportsCenter’ commercial since Charley Steiner led us to freedom. And here is that first pitch which also disproves the ponytail theory. Just little short and to the right, but the guy is 59 and isn’t exactly the most athletic. Not much worse than our President who fashions himself as one. H/T SportsGrid

The Mariners 40-man roster

While the temptation from fans is for the Mariners to make every move now, there is a reason why the prospects aren’t all up and why teams have to be careful with who they promote and when they promote them. The 40-man roster and the future are constant limiting factors.
