The Red Sox are looking for a bat, not surprised. Even though they have all these problems in the rotation, they’re looking like they want to just beat teams 10-9 every game. Good for them. One of their main targets is supposedly Carlos Quentin.
The Red Sox tried to trade for Carlos Quentin last year at the deadline, but weren’t successful. I believe if the Red Sox want Quentin bad, they’ll get it done. The White Sox need to clear salary and space because of Dayan Viciedo so Carlos Quentin is going to be the odd man out. I would be shocked if Carlos Quentin is on the White Sox next year. It really just depends on how much the Red Sox want him.
So hopefully we can get something going here in terms of some big time moves.

Andrew Miller, 26, was the not-so-proud owner of a 5.54 ERA (77 ERA+) and a 1.82 WHIP while struggling with consistency last year for the Red Sox. Sources have now confirmed that Miller will be back with the team next season. The deal is reportedly a one year, major league deal for less than the $1.6 million he earned last year.

December 7, 2011: Winter Meetings, Day 3…
I saw something amusing from @FenwayNation last night on Twitter, and it’s really not that far from the truth: “Are the Red Sox aware that the Winter Meetings are THIS week?”
