Bronx Baseball Daily:
I want to start a new piece called “The Yankee Beat” where I will find three articles about the Yankees on the blogosphere that are worth discussing and point them out here. Hopefully it will be a nightly article, probably just a week day thing though. We’ll see how it works out. Here is what the Yankee blogs are talking about:
- Mike Axisa of River Ave Blues had a great interview with Al Leiter today.
- William Juliano of The Captain’s Blog wrote about Kenny Rogers’ fight for a spot on the 1996 Yankees rotation.
- William Tasker of It’s About The Money wrote about how the Joey Votto Contract affects the Yankees.
- October 26, 2010 -- 10 Possible Replacements for Yankees Pitching Coach Dave Eiland

The Cincinnati Reds are discussing a contract extension with first baseman Joey Votto, whose deal runs through the 2013 season.
Votto declined to say how close the sides were to an agreement on Monday, referring questions to general manager Walt Jocketty, who wasn't immediately available.
Votto agreed to a three-year, $38 million deal on Jan. 15, 2011 that avoided salary arbitration...
McCoy: Just call him Pal Joey
If you are a Cincinnati Reds fan, just call him Pal Joey, because Joey Votto is going to be your friendly first baseman for the next 12 years.
His 10-year contract extension, tacked on to the two years for which he is already signed, puts him in a Reds uniform through 2023.
That's a long, long time, even in dog years, and when the contract expires he will be 40 years old.

$225 Million Will Get You a lot of Lattes
The Reds locked up Joey Votto today to a 10-year, $225 million dollar contract. It’s the largest contract in Cincinnati baseball history. Hell, it’s the largest contract in Cincinnati sports history.
I’m shocked by this, but extremely pleased. At the end of the day, I think Votto is going to age well and be extremely productive over the course of the next decade. It almost...

Joey Votto, TV markets and some Reds history
by: Josh Bethel
Staff WriterWith Votto locked up through the 2023 season I'm finally glad to be rid of one of the most furious topics of debate among Reds fans. The majority of discussion about since last off season wasn't about how much the Reds would sign Joey Votto for, but who Walt could get for him in a trade or which big market club would shell out the most...

Votto...
Reds getting things done right up to the opener
The Cincinnati Reds and Walt Jocketty have been busy. First, they decided to trade Juan Francisco for Atlanta pitching prospect JJ Hoover. I don’t think anyone was happy with Francisco after showing up to camp over weight and failing to properly rehab his injury. Now the Reds have added another young strong arm to the minors that could help in the future.
Here is Hoover’s...
