When Ichiro Suzuki returns from the DL, the Mariners are going to have a problem in the outfield. In the first three games of the year, Endy Chavez has shown so far that he is more than capable of being an every-day outfielder. Unfortunately, so have Ken Griffey Jr., Franklin Gutierrez and Ichiro. And Griffey isn’t going to be content hitting DH the rest of the season. He’s going to want to be in left field ASAP.
