“Clubhouse chemistry” has been the buzz phrase around Boston this year, and the Red Sox have certainly showcased theirs.
It seems that the team has got an “all in” mentality going into each game, with every player able to rely on his teammates do what’s best for the team. Manager John Farrell says that the “team first” mentality has had an immeasurable affect on the Sox this season and it helps each player enjoy going to the ballpark every day.
To hear what else Farrell said about his team’s outlook, watch the above video.

BOSTON – John Farrell had a full plate when the season started. He’s done a good job of devouring each challenge, but there’s still one major helping that he must scarf down over the final couple of weeks and into the postseason. It involves the bullpen.
When Farrell took over as Red Sox manager, he needed to set a tempo, instill a winning attitude and figure out how to maximize...
BOSTON — This year’s American League wild card race is going to be — get this — wild. Six teams are vying for two spots, and the madness will culminate with a one-game playoff to determine who will join the three division winners in the ALDS.
The Red Sox have a stranglehold on the AL East and shouldn’t have to worry too much about the wild card race, but it’d be understandable...
The Red Sox begin their final home stand of the regular season on Friday with the first game of three against the Yankees. The Sox will also host the Orioles and Blue Jays over the 10-day stretch on their quest for October.
With the best at-home record in the American League, manager John Farrell says that there’s no place like home when it comes to tough games.

(Photo by Jared Wickerham/Getty Images)Now that we can start talking about playoff rotations, Jon Lester is making it real tough not to assign him the #1 spot. In another stellar eight-inning performance, Lester gave up just one run on three hits while striking out five in a 5-1 smiting of The Evil Ones. Lester used a mid-90s fastball and his devastating cutter to make The Bronx...
BOSTON — It might be time to pencil Jon Lester in as the Red Sox’ Game 1 starter.
The Red Sox’ focus is still on locking up a playoff spot and Clay Buchholz could very well prove down the stretch that he’s the ace that he was before landing on the disabled list. But Lester has the look and feel of a legitimate No. 1 starter right now despite a rough patch in the middle of...
The Boston Red Sox got a bit of good news regarding injured
center field Jacoby Ellsbury yesterday as he continues to rehab from his
fractured right foot. However, Ellsbury is still restricted from doing any sort
of baseball-related activities, meaning the Red Sox have no clear timeframe for
when he’ll be able to rejoin the team’s lineup, according to Jason Mastrodonato...
BOSTON — Boston isn’t for everyone. (Looking at you, Carl Crawford.) But it’s for these guys.
The players that the Red Sox brought in over the offseason have embraced the challenge of playing in front of a passionate — and sometimes critical — fan base. As a result, Fenway Park is once again a difficult place for opponents to play.
“The one thing that stands out is that...
Back in 2004, as the Boston Red Sox were on their way to ending the team's 86-year long "curse", plenty was made about the beard of Johnny Damon. Now, close to a decade later, we're still talking Boston beards. The difference? Nearly everyone on the squad has one...not just one dude.
Finally, team brass has noticed.
When the American League-leading...
(Photo: Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports)Red Sox infielder Xander Bogaerts has made the prestigious Baseball America Minor League All-Star Team as the starting shortstop. Bogaerts was the only representative from the Boston organization to make the team—although 2B Mookie Betts and SP Henry Owens made the second team. The publication lists Bogaerts as the sixth best overall prospect...
The most coveted international prospect this offseason will be Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka. Teams are scouting the dominant pitcher and it looks like he is set for a big pay day this offseason if he does in fact come to the Major Leagues.
The teams that were scouting Masahiro Tanaka during his last start were the Yankees, Red Sox, Mariners, Braves and Diamondbacks, according...

The Red Sox have the largest lead in the AL East since 2004. Did the scoreboard operators in Tampa check that? Because this is reality - the Red Sox have been red hot as of late, hence the huge lead over Tampa Bay. In 2004, the Yankees had a 9.5 game lead over the Red Sox, then the Red Sox closed...
Guest article from our pals at TiqIQ:
Things are looking good at Fenway Park, where the mood has been set back to triumph and hope instead of despair and indignation. The Red Sox have enjoyed a strident streak since late August, going 13-4 in their last 17 games, on the back of great pitching and power contributions from all over the diamond.
The Sox’s season-long resurgence...

New York Yankees 1 — Boston Red Sox 5
Offense held down by Jon Lester in today’s 5-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
CC Sabathia got today’s start and had a perfect first inning but it went downhill from there. Mike Napoli would hit an infield single that Mark Reynolds would field at third base. The throw from Reynolds would go wide of first and...

The Red Sox announced that Wednesday, Sept. 18 will be “Dollar Beard Night” at Fenway Park. Any fan who shows up with a beard — real or fake — will receive one $1 ticket to that night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Red Sox brain trust has taken a lot of heat over the past couple of years for their approach to marketing. The Sox...
