Texas at New York Yankees: A.J. Burnett is winless in August at 0-3 and has a 6.32 ERA this month. That statistic should appeal to the Rangers, who need to make up some ground in the AL Wild Card race. New York Mets at Florida: The Mets have lost five straight. Putting Tim Redding on the mound against Florida won't help turn that streak around. The Marlins hit Mike Pelfrey hard on Wednesday, expect more of the same against Redding on Thursday. Cincinnati at Milwaukee: Dave Bush returns to the Brewers for this game. Even after Wednesday's thrilling game, I'd still be more excited about the Sausage Race than the Dave Bush-Justin Lehr pitching match up. Houston at St. Louis: Chris Carpenter leads the NL in ERA and is tied for first in wins. He barely pitched during 2007 and 2008. He could win the Cy Young and Comeback Player awards. That Pujols guy is still pretty good too. Washington at Chicago Cubs: Do you think the Nationals discuss amongst themselves that they're glad they don't play for the Mets? Despite Wednesday's loss to the Cubs, the Nats have been a decent team in August. A 13-11 record is good for them.
