The Detroit Tigers and veteran righthander Octavio Dotel agreed to terms on a one-year deal on Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but an option for 2013 is included, according to MLB Network. Dotel, 38, was acquired from Toronto during last season and was 2-1 with three holds and a 2.61 ERA in 12 postseason appearances. All told, he posted a 5-4 mark with a 3.50 ERA in 2011. Dotel, who will pitch for his 13th major-league team in his career, is expected to serve as a set-up man for closer Jose Valverde.
