The Majors Detroit:
According to Jack Magruder of FOXSportsArizona.com, the Tigers and Diamondbacks have discussed a trade involving infielders Stephen Drew and Jhonny Peralta.
The Tigers have been interested in Drew before and are one of many teams inquiring on him this season. The 29-year-old Drew has been struggling somewhat this season though hitting just .214/.274/.286 in 62 plate appearances since returning from an ankle injury. He will also become a free agent at the end of the season.
Peralta on the other hand is 30-years-old and has hit .271/.337/.415 in 333 plate appearances this year. Unlike Drew though Peralta has a $6MM club option ($500K buyout) for 2013.
Despite the rumor Magruder believes the trade is a long-shot.

The Arizona Diamondbacks' Justin Upton is not having as good a season as last season. That fact is obvious. But how and why does that translate to wanting to trade a former 1st Round draft pick who is only twenty-four and already has 99 homers to his credit? And how bad is his current season? His fWAR is the exact same as Nick Swisher. And even with his diminished season, Upton...
DETROIT -- The Tigers' disabled list should be getting shorter, sooner rather than later.
After a couple of good days of work, outfielder Andy Dirks could begin a rehabilitation assignment as soon as Sunday night. Dirks has been on the DL since May 31 with right Achilles tendinitis.
"I feel good enough to play right now," Dirks said. "This is by far the best...

There are a ton a rumors swirling around regarding Justin Upton. This has led to rampant speculation on whether or not that Mets should be in especially with the Mets’ need for a right-handed bat and the GM’s almost daily reminder that his team will be buyers. 49-44, 2nd place, 1.5 games back.
Your Tigers are now 5 games over for the first time since they were 10-5; or they are 39-39 over their last 78 games. If you remove Turner’s start, here’s what the starters did...
