Curtis Granderson made the catch of the day by robbing fellow center fielder Mike Trout of extra bases on Sunday. Trout launched a 2-1 pitch deep to center field that appeared to be destined for extra bases, as Granderson was shading the Angels top prospect to right center field.

After a long run to track the ball down, Granderson made a stellar catch at the warning track just before crashing into the wall.

The Angels went on to win the game 10-8 over the Yankees, with home runs by Albert Pujols and Mark Trumbo. The win allowed the Halos to avoid a three game sweep at the hands of the Bronx Bombers.

Mike Trout’s Girlfriend Is Jessica Cox, A Poor Man’s Lauren Tannehill

The next great WAG story may be upon us. First we had Lauren Tannehill rock our worlds at the NFL Draft. Now it looks like Mike Trout‘s girlfriend, Jessica Cox, is the sports world’s next darling. As Trout is taking the MLB by storm with his .349 batting average, we are bound to see more of Cox. At first glance, she seems pretty cute. Comparing her to BC favorite Lauren Tannehill...

MLB MVP watch, mid-July

The All-Star Break has come and gone in Major League Baseball, and I check back into the MVP races in both leagues. Through half a season, it looks like it’ll be a competitive race in each league. Besides putting up impressive numbers, the MVP also takes into account how well a team does. Here is the top ten listed in each league: AL MVP (Stats through Saturday, July 14th): ...

Trout (four hits, HR) powers Angels

Mike Trout had another four-hit game for Los Angeles, including a 430-foot homer that was part of an early power show in the Angels' 13-0 rout of the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night. Trout, Mark Trumbo and Albert Pujols all homered off Jacob Turner in the first two innings, and Alberto Callaspo and Kendrys Morales went deep later in the game. It was the fourth four-hit game...

Five Angels go deep in rout of Tigers

DETROIT (AP) -- Earlier this week, Mike Trout had a chance to meet Al Kaline, the Hall of Famer who played for the Detroit Tigers and won a batting title in 1955 when he was 20 years old. After another four-hit night, Trout looks like he's on his way to a similar feat. Trout raised his American League-leading average to .355 on Tuesday night with the fourth four-hit game of...

Is There a Harper and Trout Remix?

I want to hate Bryce Harper and Mike Trout.  Maybe if they played for the Tigers I’d love them but two guys that young, that talented and that successful who aren’t on my team?  Honestly, I really want to dislike them. With Trout it’s a little harder because somehow he comes across as a good guy and great teammate despite only being 20 years old.  Harper, it’s a little...

Views on Baseball's R.O.Y. Race

This years MLB rookies of the year are.....definetley going to be in a close race. Frontrunner in the A.L. is my overall favorite player Mike Trout who I believe is going to be one of the greatest  players of this decade. Now in the N.L. , which is less publicized, my vote would have to go to Padres first basemen Yonder Alonso. Looking at both leagues competition, the stats...

Yankees take down Angels again

Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson each hit two-run homers off Jerome Williams on Saturday, leading the New York Yankees to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Freddy Garcia and three relievers kept Mark Trumbo in the ballpark, denying him a homer in a record sixth straight game against the Yankees. Nick Swisher, who appeared to rob Trumbo of a second long ball Friday night...

Generation Next: Top Ten Outfielders 25 and Under

We could separate outfielders into separate positions, but quite frankly not every position has enough players to make the list of five. When we make it ten outfielders for the three position we really see a compelling list of outfielders. The best two young players in the game happen to be in the outfield. They are both center fielders, so center field is obviously...

Angels Player Power Rankings - Week 15

As always, the rankings are based on a player's overall season performance with a weight on recent performance. RANK PLAYER CHANGE COMMENTS 1 -- 0Last Week: 1 Mike Trout - Between the All-Star Game and then the series in New York, I think I speak for us all when I say that we'ver had more than enough "Mike Trout idolized Derek Jeter" stories to...

Game Recap 7/17/12: Easy Riders - Angels 13 Tigers 0

Don't double take too hard now, but the Angels have finally gotten a real quality start off of a starter other than Weaver and Wilson. Yes technically Santana's game yesterday was logged in as a quality start, but with the way he constantly kept his team in hot water even with the offense trying their hardest to give him a comfortable lead. Garrett Richards has a lot to thank...

Game Recap 7/14/12 -- Leave Them All Behind -- Angels 3 Yankees 5

One of the themes for the Angel offense this season is that, from time to time, they fall into a funk and leave a bunch of men on base. When the offense is clicking, it's a sight to see. But when it stalls, like today, it can be a frustrating watch. The Halos left a small village on the basepaths today en route to a second straight loss in the Bronx and fourth in a row on the...
