A decision on Torii Hunter‘s future is forthcoming. Making an appearance on the MLB Network on Monday, the outfielder –– who is reportedly being courted by the Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers, Braves, Tigers and Rangers –– disclosed his plan to make a decision soon. “It’s going to be quick,” Hunter said on the network. “I’m not going to wait it out. I know who I want to play for.” At 37, Hunter is still providing a punch at the plate, and completed one of his best seasons to date. He batted .313 while delivering 16 home runs and 92 RBIs for the Angels, who didn’t extend a qualifying offer to him. The biggest factor in Hunter’s decision making will be the opportunity to compete for a World Series championship. After 16 years in Major League Baseball, a ring is one of the few achievements missing from Hunter’s pristine resume. “Everybody knows that I want to win,” Hunter said on the MLB Network. “So, whatever team is out there that wants to win and let me be a part of it, that’s who I want to be playing with.” A nine-time Gold Glove award winner, Hunter is seeking a multi-year contract with a contender. Given his durability and stellar defense, he will likely be able to adapt to any stadium’s dimensions.
