Esmil Rogers Pitching has been a problem for the Toronto Blue Jays in recent years.  The 2013 season is no different.  R.A. Dickey has been a disappointment, Brandon Morrow is injured, and Esmil Rogers has not been good in his last three starts. Rogers recent start resulted in a 14-6 loss to the Oakland Athletics in which he was pulled after the third inning. In the last three games, Rogers has pitched 12 innings, gave up 27 hits, 20 earned runs, six walks, and struck out eight batters.  Rogers better get it together soon or he’ll find himself in the Minors. After the loss, Jay’s manager, John Gibbons decided to put Rogers in the bullpen. In the second game, the Jays won 5-4.  Jose Bautista went three for four and collected two RBIs.  Jay’s starting pitcher, Mark Buehrle gave up seven hits, three earned runs, two walks, and struck out five batters in 5.1 innings pitched. Toronto lost the third game 5-4.  What is sad about this loss is Dickey had a good day on the mound.  ”He (Dickey) did a nice job,” said Gibbons in the post game press conference. The fourth and final game against the Athletics was disastrous for the Jays.  Toronto lost by a score 5-1.  Again, the starting pitching wasn’t the problem.  J.A. Happ pitched a solid game.  ”He (Happ) was tremendous” said Gibbons after the game.  Happ gave up three hits, an earned run, two  walks and struck out six batters in seven innings pitched. The injury bug continues to plague the Blue Jays. Outfielder, Colby Rasmus has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.  The Jays have recalled the energetic Munenori Kawasaki from Triple A Buffalo. Pitcher, Josh Johnson was placed on the 15-day disabled list with sore right forearm.  Thad Weber was recalled from  Triple A. The Blue Jays have traded Emillio Bonifaco to the Kansas City Royals for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Update: Juan Perez has decided not to undergo Tommy John surgery.  Instead, Perez has chose rehab for his injured left elbow. The Jays continue the three game series against the Boston Red Sox tonight.  Guess whose on the mound? That`s right, Rogers.
