Things are not looking good for the Toronto Blue Jays right now.  It’s bad enough that they lost five of their last six games, now their best starting pitcher was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Brandon Morrow

The Toronto Blue Jays lost the first game to the Washington Nationals 6-3, but the bigger loss was losing pitcher Brandon Morrow, who suffered a injury in the oblique area, underneath the left ribcage in the first inning and had to leave (the game).  “He was in considerable pain,” said Blue Jay’s manager, John Farrell in Monday’s post game press conference.

Bryce Harper (a 19 year-old rookie who’s been making headlines lately) opened the scoring in Tuesday’s game by hitting solo home run to give the Nationals a 1-0 lead.

Down 3-0, in the bottom of the fifth inning, Jose Bautista closed the gap a bit by hitting a two run homer.

At the top of the seventh inning, though, Johnathan Solano hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays went down one, two, three. and went away with a 4-2 loss.

The third and final game wasn’t any better for the Jays.

Starting pitcher, Kyle Drabek left the game early due to a undisclosed injury.

At the top of the second inning, Tyler Moore, who racked up five RBIs in this game, put the Nationals on top 2-0 with a ground rule double, driving in Ian Desmond and Michael Morse.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Blue Jays score two runs and tied the game.  First Brett Lawrie drove in Rajai Davis from third base  on a routine ground out to make it 2-1.  Jose Bautista then hit a solo home run to tie it 2-2.  As it turned out, those were the only runs the Blue Jays would score.

In the fourth inning, Moore hit a two run homer and make it a 4-2 lead for Washington.

In the sixth inning, Moore hit his second home run of the game, this time, nobody was on base.

Desmond made it 6-2 with a solo home run of his own and the score would stand as the Jays went down in order in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Blue Jays have a day off Thursday, but they will be back at it on Friday as the face the Philadelphia Phillies for three games.
