There is a word to describe last week’s series against the New York Yankees.  Horrific! The Toronto Blue Jays lost all four games, including a double-header.  I ‘ve decided not to review the series.  Instead, I’ll just mention that the Jays were outscored 20-11.  That sums up  the series quite well.  Enough said. Now  let us move on to the Houston series.  To be honest, this series wasn’t any better. The Blue Jays got hammered in the first game 12-4.  Brett Lawrie went one for four at  the plate and collected two RBIs.  Starting pitcher, Todd Redmond was roughed up good.  In 3.1 innings pitched, Redmond gave up eight hits, seven earned runs, three walks and struck out six batters. The second game of the series was just as bad as the first for the Blue Jays as Toronto lost by a score of 8-5.  Chien-Ming-Wang, gave up four hits, four earned runs, a walk, and struck out three batters in three innings. Wang was designated for assignment shortly after the game.  Aaron Loup was reinstated from the paternity list. I hope the Jays get rid of Wang in the off season and I hope R.A. Dickey goes along with him. There was a positive note for the Jays in this game.  Rookie, Kevin Pillar went two for four at the plate and racked up three RBIs. The Jays snapped their seven game losing streak by winning the third game 2-1.  Jose Reyes went two for four at the plate. Mark Buehrle Mark Buehrle had another good outing on the mound.   Buehrle went eight innings, giving up seven hits, an earned run, two walks, and struck out seven batters.  Outstanding! Update: Word has it that Steve Delabar and Dustin McGowan is likely to return to the Jays bullpen in a couple of weeks.  That’s good news. for the team.  Toronto’s bullpen is struggling right now. The  Injury list continues to build as it is official that Maicer Izturis is out for the rest of the season.  The Jays have placed Izturis on the 60-day disabled list with a sprained left ankle.  The club recalled Ryan Groin from Triple A Buffalo to fill Izturis’s roster spot. Pitcher,Brad Lincoln was sent back to Triple A Buffalo. The Blue Jays kick off a three game series at home against the New York Yankees tonight.
