With an ugly series against the Boston Red Sox behind them, the San Francisco Giants welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates to AT&T Park for a four game weekend match-up beginning on Thursday night.
Several roster moves tonight: Andres Torres was placed on the 15 day disabled list and will see a specialist. The trip should decide the rest of the season for the 35 year old outfielder, who alerted the team that he couldn’t play earlier today. Bochy added that he had heard about it three or four days ago but that it just flared up again.
“I guess it’s been there a while but he hasn’t been getting treatment. He hasn’t really talked about it much,” said Bochy.
He also said that surgery was a possibility, and that neither side was in a rush to get Torres back on the field.
