Or Hanukkah, for those of you who, like me, skew Jewish. During trade talks for my most recent trade with Sam, he mentioned that a buddy of his had a Chase Utley hit available for trade, and was looking for something Cardinals in return. I had just shipped off my last St. Louis swag in a trade with Simon, so I hit up my LCS and found a nice Jim Edmonds relic. Sam's friend James was game, and the Utley below was soon mine.An awesomely sweet card with a full pinstripe, plus it's serial-numbered 115/150. A big thanks to Sam for the hookup, and thanks to James for the sick Utley! Enjoy the Edmonds which is presently on its way!

Report: Phillies Inquire About Jorge Posada

Don't shoot the messenger, but according to MLBTR.com, the Phillies have shown interst in free agent catcher Jorge Posada.  The news is quite surprising because the Phillies appear set at catcher with Carlos Ruiz and Brian Schnieder, and they appear comfortable with their bench players. But then again, Posada can play some first base, which means he could make a...

Should the Red Sox Go After Roy Oswalt?

Roy Oswalt might be the best pitcher left on the market, but unfortunately he comes with some serious risk. Oswalt has been a quality ace like arm for any top of the rotation, but his back troubles would very much scare me away from making the sign. I take that back. His back troubles would stop me from giving him a multi year deal. It appears Roy Oswalt is willing to take a 1 year...

The Man Who is the Reason for the Phillies Success: Ed Wade?! A Look Inside the Numbers

There’s no doubt that the Philadelphia Phillies are in an elite class of baseball teams today. There’s no doubt they were a special team when they won the World Series back in 2008. There’s no doubt that all of the success of this success is due to Pat Gillick and Ruben Amaro Jr., right? Both in their tenure made a few big additions by adding the likes of Brad Lidge, Roy Oswalt...

Video: Pedro Still Has Love For The Red Sox

Interview is from earlier in the month, but nice to see Pedro back in town and to hear his thoughts on the Sox.

Thome's historic moonshot still resonates

Even months after his historic trot around the bases, reality is still sinking in for Jim Thome. That powerful swing, a slice through the night that spawned one of his signature shots to the opposite field, propelled the Pride of Peoria into an elite class of legends.

It’s that time of year that gets you in the mood to be jolly. The biggest of all holidays is loved by all, for many reasons. Phillies prospects are no different. I checked in recently with several minor leaguers to find out what stands out for them as reasons to get excited for Christmas.Highly ranked lefty pitching prospect and the Phils’ #1 draft choice last year...

'Making History' tells story of memorable year

The Phillies had a season for the ages, if also one that fell short of their ultimate goal. They set a franchise record for regular season wins en route to their fifth consecutive division title in 2011, and fans can relive the high points in "Making History," the team's official video yearbook.
