MVN:
Tuesday is another full schedule. Josh Beckett makes his first start
since the All-Star Game. The hot pitching Wandy Rodriguez takes the
mound against St. Louis. He owns the Cardinals. The Phillies are going
for their tenth straight win. That's just scratching the surface of
what's scheduled for Tuesday. San Francisco at Atlanta:
With their win over the Giants on Monday, Atlanta has now taken over
second place in the NL East. They're still 3.5 games behind San
Francisco for the NL Wild Card. They need more wins in this series.
Obviously, San Francisco needs wins too.Baltimore at New York Yankees:
The Orioles and Yankees follow a thrilling walk-off Monday (the Yankees
won 2-1) with a Rich Hill-Sergio Mitre matchup. Come for the offense,
ignore the starting pitchers!Chicago Cubs at Philadelphia:
The Phillies ended the Cubs' four-game winning streak with a 10-1
drubbing on Monday. Philadelphia is 9-1 in their last 10 and is finally
winning at home. They've won 9 straight and are currently the hottest
team in the majors. Rich Harden and Joe Blanton match up.Milwaukee at Pittsburgh:
Even with all the turmoil in Pittsburgh, this is an exciting series.
Virgil Vasquez takes the mound for Pittsburgh while Ian Snell remains
comfortable in Triple-A. Milwaukee starter Braden Looper gives up
homers (23 in 107.1 innings) and Garrett Jones added to his legend
again on Monday. Those at-bats should be fun. New York Mets at Washington:
Washington has lost six straight. They'll face Oliver Perez, so a win
isn't completely out of the realm of possibility for the Nats. Josh
Willingham has 3 homers off Perez in 24 at-bats.
