MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins announced the completion of the Drew Butera trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In exchange for Butera, the Twins received left-hander Miguel Sulbaran from the Dodgers. Sulbaran is a 19-year-old pitcher from Venezuela who pitched this year for the Class A Great Lakes Loons of the Midwest League. In 23 games (16 starts) this year, Sulbaran was 6-4 with a 3.01 ERA. He struck out 85 batters in 92 23 innings while walking 27. He's allowed just three home runs this year. This completes the trade for Butera, who was dealt to the Dodgers for a player to be named later or cash back on July 31. Sulbaran will report to Low-A Cedar Rapids. Follow Tyler Mason on Twitter

Ethier scratched; Ramirez to return Wednesday

LOS ANGELES Center fielder Andre Ethier was scratched from the Dodgers' starting lineup Tuesday night because of calf tightness, but that development was tempered by the news that shortstop Hanley Ramirez will start Wednesday in the final game of the homestand. Dodgers' Matt Kemp tests ankle in the outfield

The final hurdle in Matt Kemp's recovery is still proving his can run on his sprained ankle.  He took a big step toward that goal yesterday as he shagged fly balls in the outfield before yesterday's game.  Kemp has been taking batting practice, and he did so again yesterday.  He is clearly progressing, and should be nearing a return from the DL. According to Ken Gurnick...

Homer-happy Twins set major-league record

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins aren't often thought of as a home run hitting team. But on Tuesday, they set a major league home run record. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that is now the longest...

Twins try to continue recent dominance of Indians

Home runs have powered the Minnesota Twins' recent surge. Superb pitching, however, is the main reason they're on the verge of their longest home winning streak in 14 months. That successful combination may be on display again Tuesday night as the Twins go for another victory over the struggling Cleveland Indians. Minnesota (53-63) has won four of five games thanks to the...

Dodgers remaining cautions with Hanley Ramirez

Hanley Ramirez has not been cleared by the Dodgers medical staff to play in a full game. While Ramirez was available to pinch-hit on Monday they appear to be waiting until Friday to play a full game. Ramirez injured his throwing shoulder chasing a popup into the stands in an Aug. 4 game against the Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers want to make sure Ramirez is fully healthy before they place...

The Dodgers had just toyed with the Tampa Bay Rays in front of a sellout crowd and a national television audience.
