Prior to the first game back from the All-Star break, the Minnesota Twins will reinstate closer Matt Capps from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for Capps on the roster, the Twins will option right-handed reliever Kyle Waldrop to Triple-A Rochester. Capps went on the DL on June 25 after dealing with inflammation in his right shoulder. He made two appearances with High-A Fort Myers during a brief rehab stint. During those games, he allowed one hit and one unearned run in two innings of work. In 27 games this season with the Twins before going on the DL, Capps had a 3.42 ERA and 14 saves. While Capps was sidelined, Minnesota used a combination of right-hander Jared Burton and left-hander Glen Perkins to close games. Waldrop began the season on the disabled list with a right elbow strain. He made his 2012 Twins debut on June 29 and pitched in four games before the All-Star break, allowing two runs on seven hits in four innings. The Twins also announced Thursday that their starting rotation after the break will be Francisco Liriano, Cole De Vries, Brian Duensing, Scott Diamond and Samuel Deduno. Of those five, only one (Liriano) began the 2012 season in the rotation. Only Liriano and Duensing were even in the majors to start the year. Follow Tyler Mason on Twitter.
