MINNEAPOLIS Joe Mauer is no stranger to batting titles. The Minnesota Twins catcher won three of them in the first eight years of his career, earning titles in 2006, 2008 and 2009.After going 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 6-4 Twins win over Baltimore, Mauer is now batting .333 and setting himself up for another possible race for the best batting average in the American League. He is currently in second in the AL behind Angels wunderkind Mike Trout. The 20-year-old outfielder is batting .355 for Los Angeles after starting the season in the minors. Considering Mauer played in just 82 games in 2011 (a total he matched Wednesday) and batted a career-low .287, his numbers in 2012 make it appear as if the Mauer of old is back."It's kind of one of those, 'Oh well, it's Joe' type things again," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said after Tuesday's win.
