More often than not, fans who attempt to interact with their favorite players on Twitter will be ignored. Professional athletes have hundreds of thousands of followers in some instances, and it would be impossible for them to respond to ever fan who tweets at them. But one Twins fan reminded us over the weekend that it’s always worth a shot. Alex Berg, a student at Bemidji State University and writer for the Bemidji Pioneer, reached out to Minnesota Twins closer Glen Perkins after he claims he was screwed when trying to buy tickets for Saturday’s game between the Twins and Texas Rangers. Here is the exchange that followed: Got screwed over online on the Twins tickets I bought last night for today’s game. Any chance my fav.player @glen_perkins could help me out? — Alex Berg (@AlexBerg22) April 28, 2013 @glen_perkins 4 tickets. My girlfriend, my grandma, and my cousin. We were supposed to be in 129, but would be grateful for anything. — Alex Berg (@AlexBerg22) April 28, 2013 @glen_perkins Thank you so much! We all appreciate it! Go Twins! — Alex Berg (@AlexBerg22) April 28, 2013 @glen_perkins Thanks again for the tickets! We love our seats! #GoTwins twitter.com/AlexBerg22/sta… — Alex Berg (@AlexBerg22) April 28, 2013 We always like to give credit to the players who go out of their way to make fans happy on Twitter, because it’s incredibly rare. There are far more pro athletes offending people on Twitter than there are those who give away free tickets. Others like this MLB player and this NFL star have done it, but Perkins joined an elite group by hooking Berg up. Bravo, Glen. H/T Reddit
