The Minnesota Twins signed reliever Joel Zumaya to a one-year contract Sunday.
Zumaya did not appear in a game last season and underwent elbow surgery in May.
It was the second surgical procedure on Zumaya's elbow within a year. He had his 2010 season cut short by surgery after he went 2-1 with one save and a 2.58 in 31 appearances.
