SAN FRANCISCO — Police have arrested two people in the fatal stabbing of a Dodgers fan during a fight near San Francisco’s AT&T Park after the Giants’ 6-4 win over the Dodgers, San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr said Thursday. Suhr did not provide additional details about the arrests. He told the San Francisco Chronicle earlier that the victim of the Wednesday night attack was a Dodgers fan and was wearing Dodgers gear. The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as Jonathan Denver, 24. Cameron Mullins, an investigator with the office, said authorities were still trying to determine the city where Denver lived. It was not clear whether the victim’s gear played a role in the attack. The Giants and Dodgers are longtime division rivals. The Giants are the defending World Series champions, but this year, the Dodgers won the division while the Giants were set to miss the playoffs. Police have released few additional details about the stabbing other than to say it occurr...

A resurgent and reinvented Brian Wilson

When Brian Wilson was signed, I didn’t like it much. His velocity was reported to be anywhere from 87-90, he only had a month to make an impact coming off TJS, and he was a veteran so the team would inevitably give him preference for the playoff roster over a potentially more deserving candidate. Now? Now there’s a case to be made that he’s the second-best reliever in the pen...

Making The Cut To 25 Men

We are all speculating who the Don Mattingly, Ned Colletti and crew will have on their roster for the post season. Here we will take a look at the easy choices, as well as a breakdown of a couple of the questionable, tough choices. We do know that the Dodgers will carry 11 pitchers and 14 position players. Here we go with the gimmies: Position Players (Starters) A.J. Ellis (C) -...

Brian Wilson Confronts Larry Baer in Stands, Has Heated Exchange With Giants CEO Over World Series Ring (Video)

Don’t poke the beard. Brian Wilson and Giants CEO Larry Baer had an interesting exchange following Thursday night’s Giants-Dodgers game as the pitcher made his away across the field to confront Baer over his 2012 World Series ring, according to CSN Bay Area. And that’s when things got heated as Wilson is upset that he still hasn’t received his bling. “Just a conversation...

Dodger signee Takumi Numata banned for life by JABA + JABA submits request to NPB

When the Takumi Numata signing last left off, the validity of his deal with the Dodgers was in question due to the circumstances around his signing, and the Japan Amateur Baseball Association (JABA) was not pleased. Late yesterday, JABA banned Numata for life, suspended the director of Numata’s team (Edion of the Industrial League), and filed a request to the NPB. The Japan Amateur...

Nolasco feels good despite recent struggles

SAN FRANCISCO The Ricky Nolasco the Dodgers acquired from the Miami Marlins in July no longer resembles the Nolasco the Dodgers have seen over his past three starts. That's not good news. Nolasco is tentatively scheduled to be the team's No. 4 starter in the playoffs behind Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu, but he's hit a rut that just doesn't want...

Brian Wilson reportedly confronted Giants CEO Larry Baer over World Series ring

Brian Wilson and the Los Angeles Dodgers were in San Francisco on Thursday night to take on the Giants in an eventual 4-3 loss. The Dodgers have already clinched the NL West and are thinking about winning a championship, but Wilson appeared to have much more on his mind in his final trip to AT&T […]

Wilson lashes out at former boss

The game ended and Dodgers reliever Brian Wilson hustled toward the opposing dugout to lash out at Giants chief executive officer Larry Baer -- the very man who employed the bearded pitcher for seven seasons until he recently joined rival Los Angeles. After months of trying to present Wilson with his 2012 World Series ring, Baer did his best after the Dodgers' 3-2 loss Thursday...

Ryu sharp, Puig, Kemp homer in Dodgers' 2-1 win over Giants

Can you play out the string when you’re up against your historic rival? Looked that way Tuesday the Dodgers and San Francisco Giants hooking up in the final week of the season and not appearing all that inspired. The Dodgers still with home-field advantage to pursue for the postseason at least have a little something to play for and they ultimately looked a tad more interested...

After seventeen successful major league seasons, all as a member of the Colorado Rockies organization, Todd Helton will be calling it quits at season’s end. Dodgers reportedly peed in Arizona Diamondbacks’ pool

The Los Angeles Dodgers caused a controversy when they jumped into the swimming pool beyond the fence at Chase Field after beating the Arizona Diamondbacks to clinch the NL West last week. D-backs infielder Willie Bloomquist ripped the Dodgers, calling their celebration “disrespectful and classless.” We agreed with him that the celebration was classless, but […]

Should MLB Teams Be Resting Players Before Playoffs?

With the final game of the regular season coming this Sunday, teams that have secured their play-off spot have to ask themselves a question. Should we rest our all-star players? The Boston Red Sox, Oakland A’s, Atlanta Braves, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are all asking themselves this question. Playing 162 games every year wears down even the toughest of athletes. Injuries compound...

Photo: Fan wears hybrid Giants-Dodgers shirt

It's a well known fact that the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers don't like each other. In fact, the two rivals have been partaking in bitter battles on the field for decades now, so the thought of liking both seems to by contradictory. However, it appears as though this fan has figured out a way to support both clubs, by wearing a hybrid t-shirt that features...
