The Hype Machine Finally Arrives: Mariners 3, Angels 0 Felix Hernandez, who's been lauded as the second coming of really, finally looked the part tonight, blanking the Angels on four hits in a thoroughly depressing game that has the scent of what the Halos will face in the upcoming postseason, assuming they make it that far. Scott Kazmir was excellent two through the end of his outing (6.1 IP), with a very rough first in which he loaded the bases on a pair of singles and a hit batter, and then struck out the side to escape the self-made jam. Mike Napoli provided the throwing error in the seventh that allowed Brewers castoff Bill Hall to score a run on top of driving home the winning run earlier in the frame; and later, Brian Fuentes gave up a run on a bases-loaded walk. Massive fail all the way around. And, oh yeah, the Rangers beat the Jays 6-4 to cut the Halos' division lead to 3.5 games.
