For those of you in search of a sneaky source of two-start pitchers for the coming week, consider your search over. This is the jackpot. Below are several pitchers available in many leagues that will help you dominate the competition for the next seven days. As the stats come in like hot cakes, just remember — you’re welcome.Clay Buchholz, BOSvs. BAL (Bruce Chen)vs. TB (Jeremy Hellickson)ESPN: 83%, Yahoo: 66%Buchholz was one of the worst pitchers last April and May, which masked the fact that he was great the rest of the season. He posted an ERA of 3.03 or better in three of his final four months. His first start of 2013 season may be more evidence that he’s going to keep the good stuff coming, holding the Yankees to just 1 ER on 6 H over 7 IP.This week’s match-ups are not the most pitcher friendly, but he has been very effective against red-hot Adam Jones and Chris Davis in his career (both are hitting less than .240 against him) and the Rays as a team are only hitting .223 against him. Give me a solid pitcher on a team who should provide fairly good run support and I am happy, happy, happy.Paul Maholm, ATL@MIA (Kevin Slowey)@WAS (Gio Gonzalez)ESPN: 35%, Yahoo: 42%I must admit that a sizable part of this recommendation is due to his juicy match-up versus the Minnows…I mean Marlins. Let’s face it, any time you see the Astros, Padres, or Marlins next to your pitcher’s name, you give a little fist pump and a “yesss” under your breath. Last year, Maholm had great success against the Marlins, pitching to a 1.27 ERA over 21.1 innings.I see that trend continuing and wouldn’t be surprised if he follows up his first start of the 2013 season (5.2 scoreless innings) with another doughnut. Plus, with the Braves hot offense behind him I love the potential for a win. The match up versus the Nationals and Gonzalez does give me some hesitation, but I am confident he can battle through that start just enough not to hurt you.Lucas Harrell, HOU@SEA (Joe Saunders)@LAA (C.J. Wilson)ESPN: 1%, Yahoo: 6%To be honest, there are some pitchers with two start weeks I generally like better than Harrell (i.e. Wandy Rodriguez and Andy Pettitte), but I figured I would help out some of the readers who play in very deep leagues. Overall, Harrell had a successful, under-the-radar 2012 campaign with an especially strong post All-Star break (2.87 ERA).Unfortunately, both starts this week are on the road (he’s much better at home) and there is the obvious problem of pitching for a team that provides little run support. With that said, the Astros are hitting .281 with a .343 OBP against lefties this year (small sample size caveats of course) and are hitting just .165 with a .182 OBP against righties. For what it’s worth, both of Harrell’s starts come against left-handed pitchers…just sayin’.
