The Orioles today announced that they have assigned INF JOSH BELL to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for a player to be named later.
Bell had been designated for assignment April 16 when the Orioles claimed CA LUIS EXPOSITO on waivers from Boston.
Bell, 25, batted .200/.221/.264 in 79 games with the Orioles in 2010 and 2011. He was acquired by Baltimore on July 30, 2009 in exchange for LHP GEORGE SHERRILL.Bell, when he has played in the majors (sparingly), looked good at points in the field; however, he never figured out how to hit at the major league level. He came to the team overweight, got in shape and seemed to be making an effort, but it all never clicked.

One bad inning kills Arrieta and Orioles; Valentine and the Red Sox
One lousy inning on Saturday befell Jake Arrieta and the Baltimore Orioles and there was little they could do to dig out of it. In the end, they would lose their second straight game to the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 6-3.The Orioles were up 2-0 in the fifth inning and Arrieta had been cruising through the game. It looked like that he would cruise to his second victory of the...

Orioles Finish Road Trip out West with win, Markakis, Chen & Reynolds
The Baltimore Orioles finished up their long ten-game road trip as they defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 3-2, in ten innings on Sunday afternoon.
They finished up their road trip with a 6-4 record – a good thing – considering how recent history has gone. Right now, the Orioles have a 9-7 record, and we all should enjoy it. The young players – especially Adam Jones and Matt...
Nick Johnson Projected To Go 0-For-233 In 2012 After 0-For-23 Start!
Still holding Nick Johnson in your A.L. fantasy league? We have bad news for you fantasy dorks. According to ESPN’s MLB projectors, the Orioles DH, who is off to a hot 0-for-23 start, will go an entire year without getting a hit. Of course it’s crazy, but then again Johnson is well into April without slapping one through the infield.

Ransom perseveres, helps D-backs end skid
PHOENIX -- Hitting a baseball is said to be the toughest task in sports, and the Diamondbacks' Cody Ransom has taken the degree of difficulty to a new level. Ransom made his first start of the season Sunday while in the process of attempting to pass a kidney stone.
It did not seem to affect him. Ransom doubled with two outs to pass the baton in what became a five-run second...
Shoulder issue lands D-backs' Hudson on DL
The Diamondbacks, already playing without star outfielders Justin Upton and Chris Young, announced Saturday that right-hander Daniel Hudson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with an "impingement" in his pitching shoulder. Without stars, D-backs' offense has gone dark
PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks are still trying to work through the loss of top offensive threats Chris Young and Justin Upton.
It is not easy in itself, and Atlantas young pitching is not helping.

What An Odd Game
I have seen my fair share of memorable baseball games at the ballpark. In Baltimore I saw Lee Mazzilli throw bubblegum out onto the field after a Chris Gomez foul ball was correctly called a foul ball instead of a home run. I saw Nick Markakis hit three home runs in one game. I’ve seen Chris Capuano pitch an incredible game, one of the best pitched games of the 2011 season. Iâ...
