While Luis Ayala was giving me agita trying to get the last out of what had become too close a game, Al Reyes was closing out a game in Binghamton. For Reyes it was his third scoreless inning in as many games and his first save. While Ayala showed a lot of resilience to finish off the game I would rather have Reyes experience closing until Wagner returns....The Zephyrs had several pitchers throwing that could be considered for call-ups. Jon Niese in his warn-up for Tuesday night's start went 2.2 scoreless innings in which he walked two and allowed a hit. I'm not sure how long it's been since Brandon Knight pitched after returning from the Olympics but he was rusty tonight and might have effected his chances of getting called up. Knight went four innings in which he allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six.
