Sure, the Mets didn’t exactly inspire us with their 4th place finish and 77-85 record, but if there is one residual side...

AROUND THE WEB
The 2011 season has mercifully come to an end for the Mets, giving way to a barrage of major questions that Mets fans are asking. Will they re-sign Reyes? Will they bring the outfield walls in closer? Will they find a way to make the Shake Shack line go faster? While these questions all deal with the future, I have one about the past: Was the 2011 season a step in the right direction...
Former Met Rico Brogna, who now blogs for WFAN CBS Sports, had some keen insights on the rise of Jose Reyes over the years from an energetic kid to the impending free agent he is today. In the end though, his opinion is that the Mets should not re-sign him.
Personally, after scouting Reyes and the Mets for many recent years, I would let Jose go and let him hit the market. I have...
Over the course of the 2011 season, the lack of major league ready talent in the Mets' farm system was brought to the forefront due to injuries. Unfortunately, that issues remains moving forward. As a result, Sandy Alderson will have to go the route of free agent signings if he intends to turn the 2012 Mets into contenders. With that said, it is no question that money is an...
Sorry for cramming all the latest on Jose Reyes in one post, but I think it makes it easier to sort through and debate. Here are some interesting items of note.
The Hudgens Effect
On Mets.com, Anthony DiComo credits Mets hitting coach Dave Hudgens with some of Reyes’ success this season.
Shortly after arriving in Port St. Lucie, Fla., for Spring Training in February, Jose Reyes...

Pagan Feared Dead
DAY TO DAY OR DEAD?Angel Pagan had to the leave the game today against Detroit due to a sore lower back but claims it's not serious. Really?! For any other team in major league baseball I may buy this as no big deal, but in Met terms it always translates into done for the year. Jose Reyes, Jason...
The New York Mets are cutting some ticket prices for the third straight year at Citi Field after another losing season.
The team will introduce what is known as ''dynamic'' pricing for individual tickets - meaning the cost of seats may fluctuate based on demand.
The Mets, beset by financial and attendance problems, said Tuesday they are cutting the cost of season...
The Arizona Fall League starts it’s 2011 season today, and the Mets have changed their minds on several player assignments to their affiliated team the Peoria Javelinas. They have assigned outfielder Juan Lagares, third-baseman Jefry Marte, and shortstop Wilfredo Tovar, as was previously announced.
The Mets have also sent to Arizona, catcher Juan Centeno who spent the 2011...
Baseball America released their Florida State League Top 20 Prospects and Mets pitching prospect Matt Harvey was ranked at #2 while infielder Wilmer Flores closed out the list at #20.
Matt Harvey had a tremendous campaign for the Mets in 2011. The big right-hander started out in St. Lucie and went 8-2 with a 2.37 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 76 innings and struck out a whopping 92 batters...
Things are quiet, but I’m wondering what your biggest concerns are about the Mets as sit here in the calm before the storm. Is it Jose Reyes? David Wright? Jason Bay? Johan Santana‘s shoulder? The ballpark? Next year’s 50th anniversary celebrations? Ownership’s legal issues? The training staff? I mean, there are no shortage of things to worry about. What tops your list? One...
The Mets have announce through a press release that they have lowered ticket prices at Citi Field for most season ticket holders. Season tickets will not cost more for anyone.
The Mets say that…
80% of seats will have a reduction of approximately 5% or greater
57% of seats will have a reduction of 10% or greater
35% will have a cut of 20% or more
18% will have a drop of 30% or...
Jose Reyes is the Mets nominee for the 2011 Hank Aaron Award.
The Hank Aaron Award, which was introduced by Major League Baseball in 1999, is given to the top performer in each league. Reyes, who won the National League Batting Title with a .337, earned his first nomination for the award. If he wins, he would be the first Met to ever win the award.
As I slowly get myself back into the mix here at MMO, I’m starting to realize there is an absolutely ridiculous campaign going on for the Mets to pursue C.J. Wilson in free agency.
I think what bothers me the most about where our fan base is right now is the love affair with doing things over and over again after they have proven to not work.
What exactly has C.J. Wilson done in...
MLB Trade Rumors reminds us that 25-year-old Japanese starting pitcher Yu Darvish intends to pitch for an MLB team in 2012.
According to their post, the Jays, Nationals, Yankees, Rangers, Orioles, Red Sox and Rays have all been linked to Darvish in various reporters over the last year.
The Mets and Braves, among six others, also ‘showed interest’ in Darvish last summer, according...
