Clementine Wilkerson, 98, has been to every World Series the St. Louis Cardinals have ever played in — including this one against the Texas Rangers.
“I like to be with all the people and see the banners and the noise,” Wilkerson said. “I just love everything about it.” Wilkerson has been to 18 World Series.
She was 13 years old the first time she attended in 1926 when the Cardinals took on the New York Yankees. She remembers watching Babe Ruth.
“I remember all the hits he got,” she said “And the way he ran. It was fun.”
Wilkerson said Cardinals fans were pretty nervous when Ruth came to the plate for his turn at bat.
“Yes,” she said, “Just like they do when Pujols gets on the plate.”
