It appears that the Reds’ offense has woken up for the season. I say that just because the Reds have scored 46 runs in their last six games. The 9 they added to that total last night against the A’s, though, still weren’t enough due to the giving up of 10 runs. The pitchers may still be a little groggy yet.
Johnny Cueto had a rough time of it. He gave up 5 runs ...

On Sunday, Reds third base coach Mark Berry delivered some tough news to the clubhouse. The 50-year-old told the team that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
“I have cancer,” Berry told reporters after the team meeting. “I know it sounds bad, the word cancer, but there are plenty of people in this clubhouse that have had it and I know people around the game who have beaten...

Reds second basemen Brandon Phillips and Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino recently played alongside each other in the World Baseball Classic for Team USA. Apparently, the two have become pretty good pals after Victorino tweeted out the above picture of a pair of red Christian Louboutin sneakers that Phillips gave him as a gift. As you can see, the size 6.5 shoes actually...

Yu Darvish gave up homers to Joey Votto and Todd Frazier but showed no problems with a stiff neck that forced him to be scratched from his previous start, and the Texas Rangers beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-2 on Saturday.
Darvish gave up three hits in five innings, including the two homers. He had to miss his scheduled start last Monday.
Votto's homer was his third of spring training...
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Cincinnati Reds say closer Aroldis Chapman will remain in that role.
The Reds set their rotation on Friday and Chapman isn't included. He came to camp with the possibility of becoming a starter, but will stay in the bullpen for the NL Central champions.
Johnny Cueto will start on opening day at home against the Los Angeles Angels on April 1. He will...
With Cincinnati’s suits finally making a decision, Reds flamethrower Aroldis Chapman will remain the team’s closer this season. The 25-year-old Chapman (5-5, 1.51 ERA), who defected from Cuba in 2009 and signed a six-year contract worth $30.25 million with the Reds in January 2010, saved 38 games in 2012. “We made a decision on our rotation. It’s (Johnny) Cueto, (Mat) Latos...
When Cincinnati broke from spring training one year ago it appeared that Todd Frazier had landed a spot on the opening day active roster until a disappointing move sent him to Louisville right before opening day. That didn’t stop him from becoming one of top run producers for the Reds last year. Now he’s ready for regular duty at third base as the Reds vie for another trip to the postseason.

Harrison will be the fourth different opening day starter in the past four seasons for the Rangers. They visit Houston in the Astros' debut as an American League team March 31. Darvish will start April 2.
